When i first started racing i was using stock '88 shocks, and honestly these were very good shocks until lap 2 when they heated up and faded away, then there was just nothing ,felt like u were riding on just the springs. These were very plush shocks, with good dampening and rebound, but when they got hot they were terrible.I would actually have to say that if someone could have figured out to put rezzys on these shocks they would be great shocks.I guess that's how good the " R " was even stock, now if honda would have put rezzys on them.......

I agree 100% with scawn and his opinion! I was going to do the 450r shock on my 250r but my suspension guy told me the same as Scawn "yes you will pay $150, but add $300 for triple rate springs and another $400 for revalving for my dune setup and he would also have to shorten shock by 1 inch because he told me they are 1 inch too long.
So we both decided on works steelers triple rates. Had them revalved and softened up allot and ony into them for $150

I disagree. The 450 revalved shocks are the best bang for your buck. I have $450 in mine and they are dual adjust piggy backs. You can't buy/build any shock for that money with that performance.

^^^^i knew you would chime in.they can work good and can be rebuilt to ride softer than stock.it all depend's on how much you can buy them for and who is rebuilding them.i took mine to baldwin and he refused to build them for me.since they don't have a snubber they can let the frame hit the ground on a big jump"per-him".i'm sure if they were cut and reworked it wouldn't be a problem.i also don't like having the rezzy on the shock.to me it's just another thing that can get broke off and ruin the whole shock.that's why i had my son's pep's built with the remote rezzys.good thing too because i'm sure they would have gotten ripped of when he smashed into the fence at aroung 40+mph,hit the tire, got ran over 4 time's."lol".

I have never seen any one break a piggy back. I have worn a hole in my remote rezzie line before and lost a race because of it. Piggy back is 10x better for racing. Again. Look at all pro shocks. They are all piggy back.
